Where are you from?
I was born in Houston, but grew up in beautiful South Austin, Texas. I love living in the Live Music Capital of the World!
Did you attend college? If so, where?
I graduated from the University of Texas, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies with a focus on Human Relations. Hook em’ Horns!
How long have you been in the events industry?
I began my career in the events industry working as a caterer for about 3-4 years. I’ve now been at Premiere Events since graduating from UT in 2013 and this is my first full-time, hands-on experience learning the ins and outs of the event industry. I love the ladies and gents that I work with and all of the amazing events that I get to attend and watch come alive.
Three interesting facts about yourself?
I spent most of my childhood dancing. I was an officer on my high school drill team, and even taught classes for money in college. I still attend classes to this day for a good workout and/or to relieve stress.
I am obsessed with thrift shopping. I love a great flea market, garage sales, and pretty much anywhere that I can treasure hunt. I also love Giraffes, and I collect dream catchers from all over the country.
Nature is my second home. There’s nothing I love more than taking my pup, Nellie, on a nice hike through the Greenbelt!
What is your job title and description?
I am a rental consultant for Premiere Events and serve as the Premiere Select concierge. I work with some of our top clients and every day event holders such as caterers, brides and planners. I am actively involved in several national organizations such as Wedding Network USA, Austin Young Chamber, and National Association for Catering and Events (NACE) where I’ve held a board position the last two years. I also help to maintain our website.
What is your favorite thing about the events industry?
There are so many things that I love about the industry. I have met some really amazing people, and every day brings a new, exciting challenge. It is so rewarding to work with individuals hands-on for months at a time, and then to see their event turn out to be a great success. There is always a need to party – for job promotions, birthday parties, graduations, weddings – and I love being a part of the process!
