Where are you from?
I was born in Houston and raised in The Woodlands, Texas.
Did you attend college? If so, where?
I moved out to the Austin/San Marcos area to attend Texas State University where I graduated Cum Laude with a major in Communications Studies and a minor in Business Management in 2014.
How long have you been in the events industry?
I have been working in the events industry since my first internship with The Austin Film Festival while I was completing my Senior year of college. Since then, I have worked on a variety of aspects of the event planning and implementation process. Including outreach to partners and sponsors for non-profit events, planning and executing logistics for multiple events, setup and striking of event sites, event lighting design and sales, and now event rental consultation.
What are three interesting facts about yourself?
I have two rescue animals who are best friends that I absolutely adore (obviously) – my pit bull/boxer mix, Riley who I rescued about 6 years ago from the Town Lake Animal Shelter. And my white tabby cat, Poco, who I adopted from a friend whom had found the litter abandoned by their mother in Dallas, Tx.
I love to hang out with my family. While some may find family time stressful, I thoroughly enjoy my family because we know how to have a good time together.
I hate seafood. The smell, the look, the taste and texture – everything. But I love sushi. It may not make sense to a lot, but it makes sense to me. I swear I’m not crazy!
What is your job title and description?
I am a retail Event Rental Consultant. I assist new and different people with their event rental needs every day through walk-ins, phone calls, emails, and our online chat feature. Occasionally, clients will require more than just your basic event rental consultation and need help picking out colors, specialty rental items, or creating a layout for their event space and it is always an exciting process to help people with that because it is always different.
What is your favorite thing about the events industry?
Aside from getting to meet and chat with new and interesting people all the time, I love putting together fun and beautiful themes for events that make it easier to pick and choose the items and colors that you want. I really love when I get a client who is creative, thinks outside the box and wants to do more than just the basics.
