Our Story
Established in November, 2000, the Premiere Events Story begins in a 12,000 square foot, sparsely furnished, and lightly inventoried South Austin warehouse and showroom – a location, albeit with additions, expansions and upgrades – that we still occupy today. The first chapter in our story includes our original tagline, “Everything You Need to Celebrate Any Event or Occasion, Including the Gift and the Bag to Put It In”. It includes a random collection of disposable paper products, bounce houses and children’s games, along with basic rental options geared toward backyard parties and simple family gatherings.
Flash forward 100 pages or so, to Premiere’s 2010 10th anniversary. We’re a full-fledged rental product and services provider. The original showroom / warehouse footprint has doubled, and doubled again in the intervening years. Premiere is gaining traction and picking up speed. Establishing a reputation for both product selection and customer service excellence, the company is thriving. Premiere has recently acquired a former competitor, Premiere Tents and Events, and expanded its tenting inventory and expertise.
It’s 2015, and we’re rolling! We’ve taken our place as a recognized leader in the Central Texas rental market, and gained national recognition for the quality of our work and the character of our team. We’ve carved out our niche as a preferred provider for the Capital City’s catering community and event planning professionals. Wedding couples and other event holders are regularly choosing to do business with Premiere, and encouraging their friends and neighbors to do the same. We’re supporting philanthropic causes that resonate with us, and “doing good” for a variety of charitable efforts. Perhaps it’s Karma . . . and our company is celebrating its 15th consecutive revenue growth year.
Sweet 16 – – – 2016 finds Premiere continuing to grow its reach and expand its operation. With the August 15th, 2016 acquisition of the iconic Bryan-College Station rental provider, Party Time Rentals, Premiere became a vital and contributing part of Aggieland. We’re thrilled to be a member of this growing and vibrant community. Our principals, Richard and Delores Crum, love the Brazos Valley so much, they divide their time between their South Austin estate, College Station home and Navasota manor.
2020, our 20th Anniversary year, and the events world may never be the same. Instead of the grand anniversary celebration we’d planned, we’re hosting a zoom event for a hundred or so of our closest friends and associates. For the first time in our recorded history, we won’t have a better year, revenue wise, than we did the year before. But ours is a story of resilience and hope – of beating the odds and overcoming adversity. Of learning from experience – all experience. Nothing can hold us back or keep us down.
2021 – We’re of ‘legal’ age now, and in Q1 and Q2, hamstrung by government restrictions keeping gatherings small and socially distanced. We’re supporting our community with immunization tents, and helping our catering customers with ‘sneeze’ guards and hand sanitizer dispensers. We’re conducting virtual showroom consultations on zoom and ensuring that in-person guests are properly socially distanced and wearing required masks. In Q3 and Q4, government gathering restrictions are eased, and restaurants in our city are reopening. Grocery stores shelves are once again offering meat, produce, and canned goods!
2022 – Here in Texas, pend-up event demand has replaced pandemic panic. We, like many of our industry colleagues, are having a record year. Supply chain disruptions, inventory shortages and labor issues sometimes impede our progress, but compared to 2021, we’re ‘fully recovered’.
2023 – 2024 – Two years post-pandemic, Premiere continues to thrive. We’re maintaining established customer relationships and building new ones. We’re keeping the familiar, and simultaneously branching out. Expansion into the Woodlands and Montgomery County (W-MC), once a dream, is now becoming a reality, and we’re primed and ready to make a significant impact on this new-to-us service area.
2025 – If all goes according to plan, we’re preparing to celebrate 25 glorious years as a successful, respected event rental product and services provider. We may not know everything about our future, but we do know that we’ll continue to be a contributing member of the Special Events Community. We’ll continue to earn our customer’s business – and their appreciation – each and every day. That’s our story, and we’re sticking to it!
